Backstory / Dragon Intro
« Last post by Vrynor on March 25, 2020, 12:30:06 pm »
Great lengths north of where any civilization lived was a massive mountain range, full of ice and snow and wilderness and terror. The closest village was one of the dwarves, who lived in constant fear of the mountains and their terrors. This was good news for the inhabitants of these mountains. In the Dragon's End, mass armies had wiped out much of their population so the only thing stragglers could do was slink away and hide. Some dragons had sworn to exact revenge on the biped species of their lands, but many that did parished.

In the heat of the war, Vyrnor, only a dragon soldier at the time was sent as a messenger for the General, however, upon arriving at his destination, he'd only found the murdered bodies of thousands of bipeds and hundreds of his brethren. Ripped to his core, the warrior headed north, past any bit of civilization. He figured if he could hide out the war, by the time it ended, peace would have been found; however, this was false hope. When he finally sought the peace at the end of the rainbow, he was met by the violent arrows and hatred of the bipeds. Finding no colleagues, he fled, heading north to live life of isolation.

In these years of isolation, he'd met many few. However, occasionally friendly bipeds would greet him in desperate need of help, against the violence of the mountains. Still believing peace would be achieved, he would take them and care for them. This was how the group called the "Glimmering Scales" was created; a gang of bipeds that helped to spread peace of dragons. Their work was slow-moving, but the best effort they gave was in protecting the lives of few dragons that survived or would be hatched.

The Glimmering Scales would send wandering dragons his direction, as well as collecting smuggled and lost eggs to be hatched in what had been called, Peak's Nest. For now, Vrynor lead Peak's Nest as a sanctuary for his fellow brethren and children. The Peak's Nest was a massive mountain cape, which was lined with holes and caves that lead around the mountain. They each had their own caves to dwell, while having a center, where meetings, feedings, and general socializing happened.

In these centers, Vrynor the ancient one, most often sat off to the side, his green scales reflecting the sunlight that cut through the high clouds. Where he laid, 'his throne', was simply a large patch of soil which he had breathed life into, creating a lovely patch of wildflowers and moss that brought brightness into their rocky center.
